Do I have to come the father and the child?

For a paternity test, the alleged father and the child must both be collected. It is recommanded to both come at the same appointment because it is simpler. However, if this is not possible, two distinct appointments even at different locations can be had with additional fees of 50$+tax.

What are the preperations?

We ask to keep the mouth clean, meaning no drinking and no eating at least 30 minutes before the appointment. If you are doing a court-admissible DNA test, we will ask for 1 ID card for the alleged father. If the child is above the age of 18 years old, he or she will also need to have an ID card. In addition the centre will take a photo (certain locations only) or we will ask you to bring a passport-style photo for all tested participants.

How long is the appointment?

Approximately 15 to 30 minutes

How a paternity test can help you

Did you know that 1/3 of everyone doing a paternity test will obtain a negative result? Why live in doubt when you can know for sure. A paternity test can give you a formal confirmation of who is the biological father of the child.

What is a paternity test?

If you opt to book an appointment, a nurse will collect DNA using a swab from the mouth of the alleged father and the child. If instead, you opt to order a home kit, you will swab your mouth and that of the child to collect DNA after receiving the kit in the mail.

Why do a paternity test?

A paternity test can be done for legal reasons or for curiosity purposes. If the DNA test is done for legal purposes, DNAForce will produce all appropriate legal provisions. This will include a chain of custody document to prove that the samples were taken and tested securely and correctly. Furthermore, photos or/and Id cards of the sampled persons will also be included in the final report to prove the identity of the participants to the test. A DNA test done for legal purposes will be accepted by the government for official reasons, such a custody, child support payments, changing the last name of the child, etc.

What should you expect from a paternity test in Winnipeg?

For a paternity test or a DNA test in Winnipeg, you must first call us to book an appointment. In about 1 to 2 business days we will schedule you at a professional collection clinic in Winnipeg. At the clinic, the nurse will swab the inside of the mouth of both participants. The samples will then be forwarded by the clinic to DNAForce's central processing unit for testing. Over 15 DNA markers will be analysed to ensure the accuracy of the test. The results will be available in a few days.

Many laboratories will test as little as 13 genetic markers and as a consequence will provide incorrect results once in every 100 reports. The tests proposed by DNAForce comprise up to 31 markers reducing the error rate to less than one in 1 BILLION.

DNAForce is a trusted name in Canada for paternity tests. All of the tests that we propose are done in an facility that is accredited by ISO 17025. You can view the accreditation certificate here.

A simple and painless mouth swab collection is sufficient to do a DNA test that will exclude paternity with an accuracy of 100% and prove paternity with an average accuracy greater than 99.9999%.

DNAForce offers the highest testing standards because we understand how important these results are.
